Meet our wonderful Veterinarians

Dennis Harrigan, DVM

I have lived in Gilroy and been caring for animals at Gilroy Veterinary Hospital for the past 32 years.  My wife, Renee, and I have enjoyed a rich community life, being involved with the Gilroy Garlic Festival, teaching art and science at elementary schools and in the community, along with volunteering for several local clubs and non-profits. We have two adult sons: Brian and Kyle, and two grandsons; David and Anthony.  Other loved family members include; Elle, our dog, and Scooter, our cat.  My interests in veterinary medicine have varied through the years. Those interests have led me to continue to learn, so I am better able to serve our patients. I have enjoyed helping our community with their pets and I thank them for entrusting their family members to us. One last my spare time, I enjoy being with my grandkids, traveling, fly fishing, hiking, cooking and sometimes, making/drinking beer.

Greg Martinez, DVM

Lonna and I never had kids of our own. Our pets have become the children we never had and they mean the world to us. My relationship with them only deepens as they get older. I always try to treat my patients as their owners would. I love helping people take good care of their babies. I really like all aspects of veterinary medicine. I have a special interest in nutrition because it has the power to prevent skin, ear and bowel issues or chronic medical problems. It lessens the need for pills or other medication.

Ashley Hoyt, DVM

I went to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo as an animal science major and then on to graduate from UC Davis Veterinary School in 2013. I have worked in private practice as well as in emergency medicine. While seeing the unexpected in my work at an emergency facility was exciting, I thoroughly enjoy working with clients and their furry family members to develop a strong relationship aimed at giving their pets the best life they can have. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, running, and enjoying family as much as possible, since returning to California after four years living on the east coast. I have a cat, Thumper, and Miniature Australian Shepherd, Effie, that always keep me on my toes.
